In the Feb. 21 Daily Globe, there is a picture of some young Scouts picking up trash along the Missouri River in Washington, Mo. It reminded me of the Scout motto when they camp: “Leave no trace” — or, simply, pick up your trash.
Worthington’s Lake Okabena is home to some of the most beautiful parks in the world. On any Monday in the summer, I can fill a large garbage bag of garbage I pick up just in Centennial Park, and most other days, two grocery bags.
Although we call them city parks, they belong to you and me. There are lots of garbage receptacles in the parks, so pick up your trash. Put it one of them, or take it home.
