WORTHINGTON — Minnesota West’s Tiffany Gehl was named the NJCAA DIII Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her outstanding play in two Lady Jay victories last week.
Gehl shot 13 of 24 from the field in a win over Rochester on her way to scoring 33 points in the game. In her next game against Riverland, Gehl led the Lady Jays with 38 points to go along with eight rebounds.
Gehl’s 20.7 points-per-game average are tops for Minnesota West as well as the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.
“We are really proud of Tiffany and her accomplishments. She is certainly deserving of the award as she has been one of leaders on the Lady Jays team this season,” said head coach Mike Fury.
The Lady Jays face Minnesota State-Fergus Falls in the opening round of the NJCAA Region 13A tournament Saturday in Coon Rapids.
