A bit off the beaten pah.......Any of you considering a pet addition to your family, visit your local animal shelter. There are sooooo many wonderful lives just waiting for someone to give them the opportunity to give love and companionship back. These animals didn't ask to be brought into a world that has been unkind to them. This April, our family lost our dog (adopted 16 years ago) to Leukemia. Since that time we have adopted 2 more dogs. For a family pet, why do you need a registered or expensive pet? These "mutts" and unwanted pets are just as loving and fun.

Here is a better link. The red marker is where the dog park is located. http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/2049/dogpark.jpg And since you wanted a written explanation: Head west on 1st Avenue SW past Prairie Elementary. It's on the left in a little parking area by the bay and the walking path. If you've reached the stop sign at County Road 10, you've gone too far. There used to be a bright orange snow fence around the dog park but I think the article said they took it down.

C C. It would have been easier if you would have just written where the location was because your link doesn't work.

B. Where specifically is it? Your description sounds like Olson Park to me. Or do you mean on the south side of Olson Park/Mudhole Bay near where CCSI used to be?

Is there a humane society or animal shelter in Worthington? I do an internet search for a humane society or shelter and there is not one listed. Although I appreciate the benefits of having a puppy park available, my thought is that an organized community effort to improve the rate of spaying/neutering or save the lives of unwanted and abandoned animals would be priority over having a place for people to take their loved pet to for socialization and exercise. Worthington has some great things going for it, but until you have a community initiative to take care of your stray and abandoned animals, you are participating in continued animal abuse and suffering.

Amy, it's on the south west side of Worthington. If you are going to Prairie Elementary from the Middle School, you will drive right past it. It is on the north side of the road near Mudhole Bay.
