So, here is the problem they don't want to learn our language or our ways but, they want to take over, take our benefits paid by the legal hard working over-taxed taxpayers and any other thing they can get. Because of politicians and so-called-civil rights lawyers and lawsuits. I say if other people want our benefits paid by other people then pay the same price. That price was paid for in blood, sweat and tears. Like it's written "Freedom Isn't Free It's Worth Fighting For".

Consistant predictability from the left. Racism is likely the only business in America that isn't threatened to be destroyed.

A.R. You seem to carelessly throwing aroung the word racist, when I think you mean to use the word bigot...look the definitions up..they are distinctly different. BTW: Lisa, I too vote for your comment as the best I've seen in a long time. Black, white, hispanic, oriental, whatever........all are equal and deserve equal treatment as long as they are a legal citizens of America.

Unless you are a tourist, or are presently actively learning english, you SHOULD be ticketed for not speaking English. If you don't want to assimilate into American culture, go back to where you came from! Does this count as a rant? $20?

Lisa, do you card them when you see them? because if they are only a tad darker than you and if they have black hair and if they have a spanish last name it DOES NOT mean they are here ilegally and when anyone makes the comments you made based on someone's skin alone THEN that makes that person a RACIST. ASSUMPTIONS won't get this nation or any nation anywhere. ICE is doing their job, getting the ilegals out, now don't go blaming all hispanics like if all of them are here ilegally, it would be like saying all germans are nazis!!!!

Let's be honest here, we do look at them different. We look at them with suspicion and resentment. We suspect that they are here illegally, especially when we see them come out of the packing plants in droves and trying to climb the fences to run when ICE shows up. We resent that they are here ILLEGALLY and taking advantage of services paid for by honest citizens or ones who are here legally and who followed the right channels to get here. We resent that they're taking jobs from American citizens. We resent that they're using our schools, health care facilities, etc., all without contributing. We resent that they get food stamps and low rent housing when there's lines of homeless, hungry people WHO BELONG HERE that can't get those services. We resent that they go to our colleges for free because they're a minority. We resent that they don't even attempt to learn our language. We resent that they're one day going to be the majority in our country - and it's not that far off. We resent that our government does nothing about it, instead they're focused on things like figuring out yet another way to tax us. I could go on and on. Segregation to the extreme of Latinos sitting in the balcony seats at the movie theatre? No, they don't have to sit in the balcony, not if they're legally here. If they're legally here they have every right to sit wherever they want. If they're not here legally I don't want them in the movie theatre at all, I want them to get their sorry butt back across the border where they belong, and to take their plethora of illegitimate children with them.

Agreed Dean R. As the article said commercial drivers are required to pass the CDL test in English now. Why aren't all drivers? The English only amendment would address that as well as all government business. No more sending out notices about city business in 5 different languages. If you want to be more than a tourist here you had best learn some English. I've seen Ruben Navarrette on Fox and he is fanatical in his support for various immigrant rights causes.

What it all boils down to is the nation needs an English only admendment. That doesn't mean people couldn't speak other languages only that all official business would be conducted in English. If people want to vote etc. they would have to learn enough English to do so. Canada has gone with a two language system and what it has amounted to is that Quebec has been almost a different country than the rest of Canada. In fact there have been attempts in the past for Quebec to secede from Canada. I think for the States to be truly UNITED we need to have one national language and English is the predominant language.

illegal immigration is huge problem, pat. e. I just want to poing out that a lot of people do NOT know whether a person is here legally or ilegally, there's no way to tell that until you ask to see an ID or paperwork, and it's WRONG to assume all those people, who happened to be hispanic, were also here ilegally.
