Charmin (TP): It does not take a genius to figure out what Evelyn meant in her letter. Get real! Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays in America. It is a time to give thanks to, whatever deity you may believe in, for all the blessings we have been given as a country, community and individuals. Skipping this important day and moving right to the commercialized C/mas holiday prevents AMerica from taking some time to reflect on just how forunate we all are to live here, free and with a world of opportunity before us (at least for now, anyway). But then, I'm sure your motive was your inability to wait to get on to the C-mas season so you can praise the Lord and celebrate the birth of your saviour, Jesus Christ. Yup,,,that has to be your motive here.

Hats off to Evelyn. Whatever happened to the Christ of Christmas. People have forgotten the real meaning of Christmas and that the REASON FOR THE SEASON IS CHRIST.

I fail to see how anyone honors Christ our Savior by trying to outdo one another by how much they spend on gifts. Read Matthew 6:24 in the Bible.

I agree Thanksgiving as far as stores go is just to count their profits. People it seems want to celebrate holloween and get candy more then true meaning Christmas.

America essentially worships Christmas. That's a sacrilege, and the money-people take advantage of it as early as possible. It's sick.

So, "Evelyn", are you saying that exploiting the Christmas season for financial profit is acceptable for businesses as long as it's AFTER Thanksgiving? Ha! Also, the logic of your last sentence was lost on me - sorry.

Evelyn, you are so right. It is all about the money. I personally will not shop at stores who refuse to use the word Christmas. In fact I go out of my way to say Merry Christmas to those politically correct scrooges saying happy holidays! As far as Thanksgiving, we as families need to be thankful for our blessings and make sure our kids know it's not just the start of the $hopping season. I and my family are truly blessed.
