The quality of life really isn't so bad in South Dakota - they have been drawing small businesses (and large) from Minnesota for decades. They don't have the "Land of 10,000 Taxes" label either. They are business friendly, and the residents (workers) do not pay a state income tax, or excess license plate taxes. The "poor" are more than adequately taken care of without allocating 65-70% of the state budget for "Human Services". I believe Minnesota is second only to California for being a welfare magnet. Governor Pawlenty is right - out-of-control spending by Government is totally irresponsible. Criticize him all you wish - in the end we know right from wrong. Based on high taxes and an enormous state government social programs, some Minnesotans perceive their quality of life is better than other States', but then so does California.

What's your answer keep spending and windup like california broke? The spending has got to stop and I think it's a start. If we stop all aid to illegals there would be lawsuits like you wouldn't believe but that too needs to be done stopping aid (not lawsuits). But politicians wont do that because of lack of money support and votes. So, instead of doing that continue bankrupting Minnesota and make slaves out of taxpayers by taxing them to death.
