PREP SOFTBALL: VanDyke strikes out 16 in Edgerton’s win against Adrian Area

SLAYTON — Edgerton’s Breana VanDyke outdueled Adrian Area’s Rachel Kontz Tuesday afternoon from the circle in the quarterfinals of the Section 3A South softball playoffs as the Flying Dutchmen scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to unknot the contest and claimed a 5-2 extra innings victory to advance to play Murray County Central.
