LUVERNE — Scoring nine goals in the second period, the No. 1-seed Luverne Cardinals broke apart a 2-1 contest after 17 minutes, earning a 12-1 Section 3A quarterfinal win over the eighth-seeded Worthington Trojans Thursday night at Blue Mound Arena.
