PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL Place scores 1,000th point in win over Madelia
OKABENA – Scoring 27 points Thursday, Southwestern United sophomore Courtney Place surpassed the 1,000-point mark in her stellar varsity career and paced the Wildcats to a dominating 72-35 victory over Madelia in an opening round Section 2A South high school girls basketball game. The victory advances seventh-seeded SWU to the tournament quarterfinals and a clash with No. 2 Granada-Huntley-East Chain (13-6) at East Chain Tuesday.By: Daily Globe, Worthington Daily Globe
