I don't think most of the Worthington residents know what Don did to keep the lights on and the water flowing at a very reasonable rate. All the while I lived in Luverne as their Utility Supt. I knew Don as the man to go to for advice on electric matters. He spent many years on the board of the Company (MRES)that supplied supplemential power to over 56 cities in a 4 state area and they kept our rates below the average. Don was a leader in getting Worthington and our area our future water supplies through the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System. Without him going to St Paul and Washington DC this project would never have gotten authorized or funded. I had many good times in both of these places talking with Don about the utility business. He was very good at looking out into the future and determining what the city would need to keep all the the utilities going. I will truly miss him as a friend and worthington will miss him as a person who cared about what happened in Worthington. Lennis"Red" Arndt, friend and fellow board member.
