We send our sincere sympathy for the loss of Charles. He was my trigonometry teacher in high school. He engaged everyone in the class and made the subject come alive. During my time as an army physician we met in an officers club just outside Washington DC and renewed the acquaintance. He was a fine man. John and Joan Mork. Sun City AZ

Charlie was a loveable, integral part of the faculty at Worthington Comm. College when I attended. He was one of those people who made everyone feel welcome. He was a tremendous teacher and member of the community. Dennis Phelps, Westbrook

Charles was my trigonometry teacher at Worthington Community College in 1976. The first day when I walked into his class I had no interest in math. He would illustrate math problems with stories about the ancient Phoenicians or Robert Oppenheimer and the Manhattan project. He made math come alive! He taught me critical thinking or at the very least how to pursue it. When I transferred to a four year university I was inspired to take more advanced math courses because of him. I have thought of him many times over the years. He was, no doubt, the best teacher I ever had. He changed my life. For sure, he changed my life for the better and at exactly the right time
