In one of the highlight area high school football games of the 1960 season, Slayton fullback Allan Woitaszewski (46) scores on a fourth-quarter plunge in the Wildcats’ 21-7 victory over Mountain Lake on Oct. 21. The win clinched the Seven Star Conference championship for Slayton in the year that the Pirates edged the Yankees on Bill Mazerowski’s dramatic walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth in Game 7.
