Rushmore Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched at 8:22 a.m. Wednesday for a fire inside the northwest grain bin at Rushmore’s elevator. Rushmore Fire Chief Larry Lupkes said the cause of the fire, which he said Wednesday afternoon was believed to be fully extinguished, was under investigation, with the cause unknown. The extent of damages won’t be known until individuals can get inside the bin, Lupkes added.
