Obituary: Helen Opdahl

Helen Mae Opdahl, 78, of Avoca, formerly of Fulda, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Surviving are her husband, George Opdahl, Avoca; five children, Dennis (Janet) Opdahl, Slayton, Gordon Opdahl, Avoca, Roger (Lisa) Opdahl, Fulda, Doreen Karnitz, Chaska, and Gloria (James) Nerison, Prior Lake; two brothers, Raymond (Nettie) Buschena, Two Harbors, and Roland (Shirley) Buschena, Fulda; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda, with the Rev. David Baumgard officiating. Burial will be in Slayton Memorial Gardens, Slayton.

Totzke Funeral Home, Fulda, is in charge of arrangements.
