Obituary: Paul Gaiser

Paul Henry Gaiser was born on July 12, 1914 at Worthington, MN. He passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the Veterans Home in Luverne, MN.

Paul Henry Gaiser was born on July 12, 1914 at Worthington, MN. He passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the Veterans Home in Luverne, MN.

He was the son of John Edward and Jennie Esther (Linn) Gaiser. He attended Elk Center Grade Schools through the 6th grade. Paul spent 4 years in the Army Air Force during World War II. Most of his time was spent in Southeast Asia, in the Philippines and New Guinea as a mechanic on airplane motors.

He married Luella Dewald on February 3, l946 at the Reformed Church in Tripp, South Dakota.

After their marriage they moved to the farm in Elk Township where they farmed and Paul did carpentry work until he retired in 1985. His biggest joy was the volunteer work he did for many years. In 1992 he was awarded Nobles County Senior Citizen of the Year.

He is survived by his wife Luella and 4 children. Keith (Elizabeth) Gaiser of Highland, IN, Leila Boots (Alejandro Nuno) of Worthington, MN, Eileen (Curt) Berger, Worthington, MN, and David (Paula) Gaiser of Eagan, MN, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Ella Dellamater of St. Johns, MI and Shirley Pierce of San Diego, CA and 1 brother, Kenneth (Florence) Gaiser of Worthington, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Glen Leroy, an infant sister, Leila Marie, and his brother James and James’ wife Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at the Christian Reformed Church in Worthington, Minnesota, with the Rev. LeRoy Christoffels officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, Minnesota.
