Frederick “Fred” Vis, 83, of Alexandria and formerly of the Chandler and Leota area, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at the VA Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Frederick “Fred” Vis, 83, of Alexandria and formerly of the Chandler and Leota area, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at the VA Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Surviving are his wife, Johanna Vis, Alexandria; three daughters, Arlis (Vernon) Prins, Leota, Marlene (Clarence) Hettinga, Pella, Iowa, and Diane (Lonny) Siegel, Alexandria; six brothers, John Vis, Chandler, Peter Vis Jr., Modesto, Calif., Allen Vis, Edgerton, Alvin Vis, Chandler, Roger Vis, Hull, Iowa, and Richard James Vis, Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Henrietta Bruxvoort, Chandler, and Janice Veldhuizen, Fresno, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at Chandler Funeral Chapel.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chandler Reformed Church. Burial will be in Chandler Memorial Cemetery, Chandler.
Chandler Funeral Association is handling the arrangements.
