Robert "Bob" J. Peters, age 60, of Fairmont passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
Robert "Bob" J. Peters, age 60, of Fairmont passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
A viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8th, 2008, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, MN. The viewing will then continue one hour prior to the funeral services, which will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec 9th, 2008, at Grace Lutheran Church, Fairmont, with the Rev. Steve Berkeland officiating. Interment in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Worthington, MN.
Bob Peters was born April 1st, 1948, in Goodhue County, MN At 22 months of age he was adopted by the late Cornelius W. and Linda (Wiens) Peters of Windom, MN. Bob grew up on a farm located just north of Windom, while attending country school and later graduated from Windom High School in 1966. After graduation he attended Pipestone Vocational College and then moved to Worthington and was a parts manager at Scholtes Motors. In Worthington, he met his future wife, Sandra Boucher, and they were married June 30th, 1973. While living in Worthington, Bob worked for Southwest Mental Health, CCSI and then New Dawn Group Home.
In September of 2000, Bob and Sandra moved to Fairmont, where he began working as a paraprofessional for the Fairmont School District. Bob was passionate about golf and a very active member in the school community, participating in sporting events of all types and coaching the girls junior high golf team. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Interlaken Golf Course.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sandra Peters of Fairmont; four children, Marcus Peters of Fairmont, Julie Stixrud and her husband, Robert, of Chanhassen, MN, Aaron Peters and his fiancée, Carrie Scheerle, of Fairmont, and Crystal Peters of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Carson, Mason and Aryana Peters; parents-in-law, Ed and Colleen Boucher of Estherville, IA; brother-in-laws, Steve Boucher and his wife, Jean of Worthington, Greg Janasko of West Des Moines, IA, and John Janasko and his wife, Michelle, of Estherville; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
