Obituary: Helen Abels

Helen Bernice Abels, 85, of Worthington, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at South Shore Care Center, Worthington.

Surviving are her husband, George Abels, Worthington, two sons, Gaylen (Cheryl) Abels, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Byron Abels, San Francisco, Calif.; three brothers, Harlan (Ferne) Schneiderman, Worthington, Kenneth (Judy) Schneiderman, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Burdell (Janice) Schneiderman, Little Rock, Iowa; one sister, Harriet (Aron) Rust, Worthington; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Benson Funeral Home, Worthington.

The service will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Mike Richmond officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
