Ruby Charlotte Ahlberg Anderson, October 11, 1917, to February 26, 2009

Ruby is reunited with her be-loved husband Carl Theodore Anderson, whom she married May 31, 1940; parents Carl Bernard and Marie Christine Ahlberg; brothers Carl, Warner and Gunnar; infant son Robert; and many family and friends who preceded her in death.

She will be remembered lovingly by her children and their spouses, Sherilyn and Kelly Sorem (Inverness, IL), Carla Anderson (Minneapolis, MN), Greg and Penny Anderson (Eden Prairie, MN), and Scott and Tammy Anderson (White Bear Lake, MN). Carl and Ruby were the proud grandparents of 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The grandchildren were devoted to their "Christmas cookie" Grandma and "lemon drop" Grandpa who were so generous with their love, time and home.

Ruby cherished family and friends throughout her lifetime in Worthington, her ties to the First Covenant Church, many, many rides and walks around Lake Okabena and trips to visit their children. Ruby had a beautiful singing voice, loved to bake and cook for others, enjoyed fishing, crocheting and counted cross stitch. She visited relatives in Sweden several times.

The last five years of her life were spent in White Bear Lake where she was close to her family. The staff of Cerenity Care Center provided Ruby and her family with loving care. Her dignity, wit and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.

The family requests that rather than flowers, memorials be given to the First Covenant Church youth group or the Alzheimer's Association.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, with lunch and fellow-ship to follow.

Benson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
