Obituary: Doris Habeck

Doris Habeck died on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Lakeview Assisted Living in Heron Lake, MN.

Doris Laverne Habeck, 94, was born on May 6, 1915, in Brewster, MN, the daughter of Bernhard "Barney" and Vauna (Curtis) Kuehl. She worked as an aide at Cashel Nursing Home in Worthington for 35 years. Doris married Wilkie Habeck on June 6, 1962, in Worthington. She enjoyed cats, crocheting, cooking, and traveling to California and Florida. She loved to dance to polka most. Doris died on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Lakeview Assisted Living in Heron Lake, MN.

Doris is survived by two sons, Otto Ober of Wilder, MN, and Harlan (Peggy) Ober of Brewster, MN; one daughter, Mary Ingraham of Ogden, UT; 20 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren, and 8 siblings, Celia Kunze, Lucille Welton, Bertha Anderson, Donna Von Behren, Vauna Gieser, Evelyn (Arnie) Froderman, Alvin Kuehl, and Harriet (Dave) Thorsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, one great great grandson; son-in-law, Daniel Ingraham; daughter-in-law, Peggy Ober, and two sisters, Margaret Fink and Florence Schaff.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Wayne Krohe officiating. Casket bearers will be Larry Ober, Otto Ober Jr., Tyler Ober, Cody Ober, Kevin Grunewald, and Shawn Licht. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
