Obituary: Ray Tennessen

Ray Tennessen, age 97, died peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Reflections Care Suite in Northfield.

Ray Tennessen, age 97, died peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Reflections Care Suite in Northfield.

Ray was born on July 10, 1913 at Wilmont, MN. On February 17, 1944 he married Gertrude Herrig at St. Columba Catholic Church in Iona, and farmed in the Iona area for many years.

He is survived by children, Ken (Mary) Tennessen of Cannon Falls, Charles (Mary) Tennessen of Northfield, Yvonne (Marshel) Wilber of Council Bluffs, IA, and Camillus (John) Bain of Woodbridge, VA; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Victor; sisters, Florence Kunkel and Viola Ecker; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude; parents, John and Elizabeth; brothers, Vincent and Richard; and sisters, Genevieve Moritz and Germaine Dunnom.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Nov 26 at 12:00 p.m., with visitation from 10-12 p.m. at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls.

Visitation will also be at St. Columba Catholic Church in Iona on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., with burial service to follow.
