Services: Laverne Swanson

Laverne “Bud” Hilbert Swanson, 79, of Alpha, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Swanson, Alpha; four children, Ken (Chris) Swanson, St. James, Pam (Tim) Williams, Firestone, Colo., Janell (Sheldon) Johnson, Alpha, and Angela (David) Ruhter, Austin; two sisters, Leona (Oscar) Seim, Jackson, and Dorothy Bender, Wisheck; one brother, Donald (Jean) Swanson, Alpha; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Jackson.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Jackson, with the Rev. Lance Isaacson officiating. Burial with military honors will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, Trimont.

Osterberg Funeral Home, Jackson, is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mount Carmel Ministries or Trinity Lutheran College.
