Obituary: Roger Henderschiedt

Roger Henderschiedt, age 74, of Worthington, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home.

Roger Henderschiedt, age 74, of Worthington, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home. He was born on January 26, 1937 in Wilmont, MN to parents, Roy and Caroline (Ditter) Henderschiedt. Roger attended school in Reading and Worthington. After his schooling he went to work with his father in the trucking business, becoming a co-owner in 1959.

They hauled livestock nationwide until 1985 when the business switched to refrigerated freight.

Roger retired in the fall of 2007.

Roger was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington. He was an avid fan of sprint car racing at Huset's Speedway and the Knoxville Nationals. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by one sister, JoAnn Henderschiedt, Denver, CO; two brothers, R.L. (Bud) and his wife, Patricia, Allen and his wife, Theresa, both of Worthington; and nineteen nieces and nephews.

Roger was pre-ceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 8 PM, with a prayer service at 8:00 PM, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington.

The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington with Father Jim Callahan officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Worthington.
