Obituary: Randy Wynia

Randy Wynia was born on September 13, 1954 in Slayton, Minnesota to Gerald (Jerry) and Dorothy Sellman Wynia.

Randy Wynia was born on September 13, 1954 in Slayton, Minnesota to Gerald (Jerry) and Dorothy Sellman Wynia.

He grew up in Slayton and graduated from Slayton High School in 1974.

Randy then attended Mankato Area Vocational Technical College. Following

school Randy returned to Slayton and worked at Hegstad Equipment in Slayton. On November 3, 1984 he and Pam Odenbrett were married at St. Ann’s Church in Slayton. Following their marriage they made their home in

Slayton and raised their five children. Randy remained working at Hegstad Equipment and later became a partner in the business. He and Pam later divorced.

Randy passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Lake Havasu Medical Center in Lake Havasu, AZ at the age of 56. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Slayton. Randy enjoyed cruising around in his Mercury and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his five children and their spouses, Wendy and Neil Forsberg of Slayton, MN, Jeannie and Rob Swanson of Slayton, MN, Jason Wynia of Garvin, MN, Jody Martens and her special friend, Todd Mejia of Adrian, MN, and Randy and Sam Wynia of Slayton, MN, ten grandchildren, his mother, Dorothy Byers and her husband, Doug of Slayton, MN, one brother,

Steve Wynia and his wife, Rhonda and one sister, Mary Wajer and her husband, Rich all of Slayton, MN.

Service is at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN, on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jon Marburger officiating. Interment is at Slayton Memorial Gardens, Slayton, MN

Visitation will be on Sunday March 13, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton from 4-7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.
