Mrs. Joan Louise Mastbergen, 75, was born on July 16, 1935, in Jackson County, MN, the daughter of Emil and Marie (Koch) Wiese.

Joan married Hubert Mastbergen on July 19, 1952.
They made their home in Worthington, MN, where they raised their 5 children, Richard, David, Patty, Kathy and Timothy.
Joan was a homemaker and also worked part-time jobs cleaning houses and was a hostess at the Coliseum Ballroom.
Joan was the wife, mother, and grandmother of U.S. military veterans.
She volunteered and served as the American Legion Auxiliary President for Minn. Post 5 in Worthington several times.
Joan died peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Luverne, MN.
Joan is survived by her husband, Hubert; five children, Richard, David, Patty, Kathy, and Timothy; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Hemp and Deanna Dwire of Worthington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Wiese.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at the American Reformed Church in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Irwin Van Leeuwen officiating.
Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN.
