Obituary: Amanda Becker

Amanda Nichole (Nelson) Becker, 25, was born on May 29, 1986 in Worthington the daughter of Jeff and Sandy (Veen) Nelson.

Amanda Nichole (Nelson) Becker, 25, was born on May 29, 1986 in Worthington the daughter of Jeff and Sandy (Veen) Nelson. She attended and graduated in Worthington in 2004.

After high school she attended MN West Jackson Campus for two years. Amanda worked for Hardee’s in Worthington for several years and Burger King in Jackson. Amanda’s hobbies were hunting deer and bear, cheering for the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed Butterfingers and Laffy Taffy.

Amanda was a talented artist drawing many pictures over the years. Her children and family were very important to her as spending time with them was always a priority. She wanted her brothers to be proud of her.

Amanda died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Mayo Health System in St. James, MN.

Amanda is survived by her husband Alvin Becker, son Jeffrey and daughter Nevaeh all of Fulda. Parents Jeff and Sandy Nelson of Worthington; brother Travis Nelson of Butterfield, brother Matt and his wife Cassie Nelson of Worthington.

Amanda is also survived by her nephews Dillon and Dalton Nelson of Worthington; grandmother Marcia Nelson of Windom; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Amanda is preceded in death by her unborn daughter Josie Nichole Becker, sister in law Christianna Alm, paternal grandfather Duane Nelson, maternal grandparents Peter and Lorraine Veen and uncle Nick Nelson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington, MN, with Rev. James Krapf officiating. Burial will be at the Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
