Anna Louise Vogt, age 92, of Worthington, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington.
Anna Louise Vogt, age 92, of Worthington, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. She was born June 3, 1919, in Harris, IA, to William and Anna (Pommer) Lorch. After her mother died, Anna was raised by her father’s brother & wife, Theodore & Christina Lorch. She attended a rural school in Harrison Township, Osceola County, IA.
Anna married Albert Vogt, on June 1, 1946, in Spencer, IA. After their marriage, the couple traveled to different states while Albert worked as a brick mason. They returned and began farming in 1966 on the farm where Anna was born. On August 18, 1996, they had a farm sale and moved to the Homestead Cooperative Homes in Worthington.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. Anna loved to do fancy work and make holiday candies. She made and decorated cakes for weddings, graduations, birthdays & anniversaries from 1975 until 1996.
Anna is survived by her sister-in-law, Marjorie Vogt, Lamberton; nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert, on December 11, 2001; and a sister, Irene Danielson.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington, officiated by the Rev. Gordon Orde. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Harris, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
