Obituary: Helen Paulsen

Helen C. Paulsen, age 91, of Round Lake, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at her home.

Helen C. Paulsen, age 91, of Round Lake, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at her home. She was born August 9, 1920, on the family farm in Round Lake Township, rural Jackson County, to Hans and Alma (Untiedt) Bockwoldt. She attended country school in District #76, rural Round Lake.

Helen married Earl Paulsen Jan. 4, 1945, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Sioux Valley, MN. After their marriage, they lived in Round Lake.

She was a homemaker; and a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Round Lake. Helen did sewing & upholstery work for many years. She enjoyed vegetable & flower gardening, and spending time with her friends & family, especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her two daughters, Linda Paulsen, Round Lake; and Donna (Keith) Prentice, Terril, IA; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Chuck) Berg and Gregory Prentice, both of Terril, IA; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Trentyn, Michael & Josie Mae Berg; and Logan & Tate Prentice; and a sister, Irene Bockwoldt, Worthington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl, in 1997; grandson, Brian Prentice; four brothers, William, Walter, Edwin & Raymond Bockwoldt; and two sisters, Alice & Velma Bockwoldt.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church, Round Lake, officiated by the Rev. Ben Rucker. Burial will be in Round Lake Cemetery.
