Obituary: Declan Spessard

Declan died on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Declan Lloyd Spessard, 3 months, was born on November 18, 2011, in Mankato, MN, the son of Nathan and Holle (Baumgard) Spessard. He was baptized on February 12, 2012, at the Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN. Declan was a happy, content, and very good baby. He loved taking baths and found joy in laughing at his big brother, Noah. Declan’s brother and sister, Courtlynn adored him and Noah was looking forward to teaching him how to farm, fish and go hunting. Courtlynn enjoyed stealing his nookie. Declan died on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Declan is survived by his parents, Nathan and Holle (Baumgard) Spessard, along with his brother, Noah and sister, Courtlynn of St. Peter, MN; grandparents, Court and Gayle (Holle) Baumgard of Round Lake, MN, and Jeff and Lynn (Stofferahn) Spessard of New Ulm, MN, and great grandparents, Merle and Eunice Baumgard of Round Lake, MN, and Ruth Spessard of Round Lake, MN. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Sylvester and Phyllis Holle, Lloyd Spessard, and Wallace and Leona Stofferahn.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Dennis Heiden officiating. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington.

Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
