Reinhold August Daberkow, was born on September 29, 1921 the son of Frank and Anna (Wrase) Daberkow on the home farm in Heron Lake Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Heron Lake Township. He attended St. Peter Parochial School, where he graduated from the eighth grade. Around the age of fifteen his father passed away and he took over the family farming business. On October 1, 1944 he married Lois Adeline Williamson at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Reiny and Lois continued to farm the family farm until moving to town in 1983. Lois passed away on March 11, 2003. Reiny continued to keep an eye on his son Dennis and the farming operation all the way up until the time of his death. Reinhold passed away at his home on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the age of 90 years, five months, and eleven days.
Reiny was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He was a trustee and an elder there. He was a past 4-H leader and Director of the Cooperative Ag Center. Reiny enjoyed going with Lois to visit and play cards with neighbors and relatives. After moving to town, Reiny helped his wife Lois quilt many quilts for family and friends. In his later years he would enjoy a casual afternoon fishing for bullheads. He was very proud to still be able to live in his own home and drive his own truck, even if he couldn't eat like he use to, a saying many of his family will remember him for.
Reinhold is survived by two sons, David (Bev) Daberkow of Lake City, South Dakota and Dennis (June) Daberkow of rural Lakefield, a daughter, Dianne (Charles) Schumacher of St. Louis, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Kelli (Jeremy) Nerem, Jeremy Daberkow, Lance (Rachel) Daberkow, Andy (Janelle) Daberkow, Char (Lon) Siefken, Todd Daberkow, and Scott Schumacher, and two great grandchildren, Lance and Rachel Siefken. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ida Daberkow of Lakefield.
Reinhold is preceded in death by his parents, his dear wife Lois, two brothers, four sisters, and an infant grandson, Ryan Daberkow.
Blessed be the memory of Reinhold August Daberkow.
