Kevin Jenkins, 43, of Red Wing, formerly of Jackson, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, at his sister’s home in Red Wing.
Kevin Jenkins, 43, of Red Wing, formerly of Jackson, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, at his sister’s home in Red Wing. Memorial services for Kevin are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Jackson, with Pastor John Schuetz officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson. Memorials are preferred by the family.
Kevin Ray Jenkins was born on May 20, 1968, in Jackson, Minnesota, the son of Leonard and Darlene (Hampel) Jenkins. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1986 and later attended Dunwoody College in Minneapolis for plumbing. He was united in marriage to Michelle Campney. The marriage was later dissolved. He worked as a plumber in the Twin Cities area for various companies. Then he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he helped in the construction of the City Center. He then moved back to Red Wing, Minnesota, and continued working as a plumber. Kevin lost his 10 month battle with cancer on Friday, March 9, 2012 at his sister’s home in Red Wing.
Kevin enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, cooking, eagle watching and NASCAR. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Kevin is survived by a son, James Jenkins of Lake Park, Iowa; two sisters, Jody (Jerry) Roth of Red Wing, Minnesota, Pat (Alan) Baloun of Windom, Minnesota; one brother, Mark Jenkins of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; three nephews, one great niece, one great nephew; and special friend, Stacie Dahl of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
Kevin is preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents.
