Obituary: Carol Bourquin

Carol Jeanette Bourquin, 71, was born on April 1, 1940, in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Victor and Marcella (Bayerkohler) Winter.

Carol Jeanette Bourquin, 71, was born on April 1, 1940, in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Victor and Marcella (Bayerkohler) Winter. She grew up in Worthington and attended parochial school. Carol married Harvey Bourquin on June 1, 1959, in Worthington. She worked primarily as a homemaker, spending her time cooking, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards, playing games with friends, and listening to the Gaither's Gospel Hour on television. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Carol died on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Carol is survived by her husband, Harvey Bourquin of Brewster, MN; six children, Bryan (Tammy) Bourquin of Brewster, MN, Mike (Laura) Bourquin of Brewster, MN, Pam (Roger) Mueller of Stewartville, MN, Sandy Bourquin (significant other, Michael Michaels) of Worthington, MN, Scott (Michelle) Bourquin of St. Paul, MN, and Jeff (Shawna) Hoy of Fulda, MN; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her mother, Marcella Winter of Worthington, MN; two brothers, Ron (Jan) Winter of New London, NC, and Randy (Anne) Winter of Wausau, WI, and one sister, Barb (Del) Uphoff of Worthington, MN. She was preceded in death by her father; two sisters, Judy Grimmius and Janice Schroer, and one daughter-in-law, Joyce Bourquin.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster, MN, with Father Russell Scepaniak officiating. Burial will be in the Hersey Cemetery near Brewster.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
