Wanda Mae Thueson, 85, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2012 at the Banner Garden Hospice in Mesa, AZ.
Wanda Mae Thueson, 85, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2012 at the Banner Garden Hospice in Mesa, AZ. She was born on September 27, 1926 in Worthington, MN. She grew up in Worthington, moved to Farmington, UT when she was a senior in high school and graduated from Davis High.
Wanda married Ralph W. Thueson on September 30, 1944 in Seattle, WA. She moved to the family farm where she and Ralph spent their married lives after Ralph returned from the Navy. Since their retirement in 1989, they enjoyed spending their winters together in Arizona.
Wanda loved family visits, going out for coffee, dining out and warm weather. Her hobbies, over the years, included knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking and reading. She was devoted to the Sunday morning worship hour on TV with Pastor Salem. Wanda is a member of the First Lutheran Church in Worthington.
Wanda is survived by her husband Ralph, four daughters, Connie, her husband Alvin Kuehl of Lismore; Chris Lang, her special friend Don Olthoff of Lakefield; Julie, her husband Robert Vos of Worthington; and Debra Thueson of Worthington; nine (9) grandchildren and their spouses or special friends; fourteen (14) great grandchildren; one (1) great-great granddaughter; nieces and a nephew.
Wanda is preceded in death by her mother Thelma Mae Huerkamp, her father Everett Hoffmeister and stepmother Anne, her in-laws Henry and Hattie Thueson, one (1) brother Robert Huerkamp, one (1) sister Evelyn Starzl Wulf, one (1) step brother Clifford Selene, two (2) step sisters Marcella Dinkman and Gerry (Geraldine) Spencer.
A private family burial will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington, with Pastor Richard Ricker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Banner Garden Hospice in Mesa, AZ.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
