Obituary: Lauretta Maxwell

Lauretta Maxine (Heeren) Maxwell, age 87, of Worthington,died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Sunset Hospice Cottage, Worthington.

Lauretta Maxine (Heeren) Maxwell, age 87, of Worthington,died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Sunset Hospice Cottage, Worthington.

She was born Aug. 31, 1924, in Westport, Iowa, to parents Henry Peter Leo Reinart and Dorthea Mae (Coddington) Reinart White.

Lauretta was united in marriage to Raymond Heeren in Brewster. To that union, four children, Sharon, Arlyce, Sandra, and Douglas, were born. They divorced and she married Ardel Maxwell in Jackson. To this union, two children, Sheila and Keith Maxwell, were born.

She was a member of the Worthington Christian Church and enjoyed working on various serving committees.

Lauretta is survived by her children, Sharon Medina, Norco, Calif., Arlyce (Larry) Bennett, St. Cloud, Sandra Boyer, Tigard, Ore., Douglas (Nancy) Heeren, Haysville, Kan., Sheila Maxwell, Rushmore, and Keith (Kim) Maxwell, Worthington; five grandchildren, Christopher Medina, Jeffrey Boyer, Kristine Boyer, Jade Heeren, and Karissa Maxwell; three great-grandchildren, Chloei, Everly,and Peyton Boyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and two sisters, Audrey DeGroot and Patricia Horst.

Funeral services were held at the Worthington Christian Church, and burial was at Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a very nice woman, even though I had not seen her in several years. Sheila, Keith and your whole family are in our thoughts and prayers. God be with you in this difficult time. Arnie & Deb Gerdes
