Obituary: Diane Zemler

Diane Zemler, the daughter of Frank and Irma (Schwartz) Schwantes, was born on March 4, 1943 in St. Paul, MN.

Diane Zemler, the daughter of Frank and Irma (Schwartz) Schwantes, was born on March 4, 1943 in St. Paul, MN. She grew up in New Ulm until she was a teenager, they then moved to Fridley, MN where she graduated from high school. Diane was united in marriage to Fred Zemler on March 5, 1983 in Fulda, MN. After their marriage they lived in Fulda and operated the Fulda Bowling Alley and later the Fulda Mini Mall. Together they owned and operated the Fulda Café for 19 years. Diane passed away at the Avera Marshall Medical Center in Marshall, MN on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the age of 69. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Fulda. Diane also belonged to the Fulda C & C and the Fulda Retail Trade. She enjoyed beadwork, painting, knitting, crocheting, bowling and playing cards with her sisters. She also enjoyed coffee hour at her home with the coffee clutch. Diane loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, but most of all her loving husband.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Zemler of Fulda, MN; sons, Terry Blesi of Wentworth, SD, Michael (Laura) Blesi of Forest Lake, MN, Jamie Blesi of Fulda, MN and Brandon Blesi of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Justin (Kayla) Nielson, Alex Blesi, Jake Blesi, Chantel Baumgard, Austin Blesi, Justin Blesi, Michael Wissler, Alyssa Yuronich, Ryan Yuronich and Rosie Melgoza; mother Irma Schwantes of Fulda, MN, brothers and sisters, Dolly McPhillips of Fridley, MN, Sandy Herzberg of Fulda, MN, Roxy (Keith) Hakeneis of Fulda, MN, Cindy (Mark) Ramert of Fulda, MN, Franky Long of New Brighton, MN, Rhonda (Gary) Sell of Fulda, MN, Paul (Dawn) Schwantes of Maplewood, MN, Darcy (Dan) Uttech of Fulda, MN and Rick (Val) Schwantes of Coon Rapids, MN; sister-in-law, Jan Schwantes of St. Paul, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, brother, Frank Kingsley Schwantes and brothers-in-law, Cliff Herzberg and Mike McPhillips.

Memorial services will be at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 with the Fr. Andrew Vogel celebrating. The organist is Mary Ann Boom. The song leader is Sheila Crowley. The soloist is A. W. Koopman. The honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
