Mitchell J. Benson, 20, of Worthington, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Sanford Worthington Medical Center.

Mitchell J. Benson, 20, of Worthington, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Sanford Worthington Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Benson Funeral Home, Worthington.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Christian Church with the Rev. Ron Ahlgren officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.

Hey buddy, It's Kellen. I just heard the news down here in Miami. Formally played hockey against you in Fairmont, MN. Then college hit and you became one of my best friends. It's too bad that the time has came to take a such a young and bright man. I have enjoyed battling it out with you on the ice and being rivals. But this past year, at a get together I got to know the real you. I am really thankful I got to finally know you! May you rest in peace man, forever a friend, Kellen.
