Obituary: Janice Rosenberg

Janice Fern Rosenberg died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Lakeville, MN.

Janice Fern Rosenberg, age 80, was born on November 12, 1931, in Kenneth Township, Lismore, MN, the daughter of Melvin and Blanche Stangeland. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1949 and received CNA Training in 1965. Janice was the first student to take Drivers Education in Worthington in 1947. Janice worked as a telephone operator at Central from 1966 to 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Worthington, a teacher for Awanas, and sang in the Sweet Adelines. Janice traveled to the Netherlands, the Middle East, and went on many trips with her grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting, sewing, crafting, fishing, cooking for her family, and watching her grandchildren play. Janice died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Lakeville, MN.

Janice is survived by her children, Roxanne (Lee) Cunningham of Arden Hills, MN, Rick (Shannan) Rosenberg of Corpus Christi, TX, and Becky (Ken) Swanson of Lakeville, MN; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Carol Parker and Lucile Martin.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Worthington, MN, with Brian Froderman officiating. A family burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
