Marian Bertha Vander Kooi, age 68, of Worthington, died on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington, MN.
Marian Bertha Vander Kooi, age 68, of Worthington, died on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington, MN.
Marian was born July 25, 1944 in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Ben and Hattie (Feenstra) Vander Kooi. She attended the Worthington Christian School and the Crippled Children’s School. Marian then continued her education at the Vocational School in Mankato, MN. She was employed at a Care Center in Richfield, MN. Later, she worked as a nanny and child caretaker for many years in the Minneapolis area.
Due to health reasons, she returned to Worthington and lived at the Atrium for several years, then at the Crossroads Care Center. While there she was an inspiration to all by sharing her faith. She was a member of the Worthington Christian Reformed Church.
Surviving are her sister, Agnes (Sylvan) Addink; four brothers, C. Paul (Donna), Calvin (Nancy), Ben (Nancy) and Tom, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Adam Eisenga officiating. Family members will serve as casket bearers. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12-1 pm on Tuesday at Benson Funeral Home.
