Obituary: Hermina Tripp
Hermina (Schaap) Voit Tripp, age 77, was born on November 29, 1934 in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Van Dyke) Schaap.
Hermina (Schaap) Voit Tripp, age 77, was born on November 29, 1934 in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Van Dyke) Schaap. She graduated from Worthington High School. Hermina married Donovan Voit in December of 1951. They cared for over 100 foster kids and traveled all over bringing back kids from Korea and India for adoptive families. They lived in Lakeville and Bloomington, MN and in Storm Lake, IA. Donovan passed away in April of 1991. Hermina married Marvell Tripp on February 14, 1995 and he passed away in January of 2010. Hermina died on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at her residence in Worthington, MN, with her children at her side.
Hermina is survived by her children, Sharon Lund of Bloomington, MN, Steve (Maggie) Voit of Conifer, CO, Julie (Chino) Yap of Pine Island, MN, Barbara Voit of Bloomington, MN, and Allison Scheibe of Hopkins, MN; step children, Tim (Chris) Tripp of Worthington, MN, Dave (Roxy) Tripp of Worthington, MN, and Steve Tripp of Maple Grove, MN; thirteen grandchildren; five step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; siblings, John (Helen) Schaap, Art (Lorraine) Schaap, Gertrude (Dale) Eckerson, Clara (Denny) Berger, Mavis (Harley) Waltjer, Marie (Paul) Derby, and Martha (Jack) Stene, and sister-in-law, Joan Humphrey. She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, and sister, Freida Buss.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Ron Schaap officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Fort Snelling Cemetery.
