Obituary: Charlotte Ryan Schulz
Charlotte E. Ryan Schulz (nee Clemetson) of Elk Point, SD, formerly of Jefferson, SD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Avera McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Charlotte E. Ryan Schulz (nee Clemetson) of Elk Point, SD, formerly of Jefferson, SD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Avera McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was 86 years old. Charlotte was born in Elk Point and subsequently moved to Jefferson where she married John M. Ryan and raised their children. She was employed at Jefferson High School for a number of years while her children were in school.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husbands, John M. Ryan, and Earl H. Schulz. She is survived by her children, J. Michael Ryan (Sandra), James J. Ryan (Ann), Julianna M. Finzen, Kelly T. Ryan (Ann), Bradley P. Ryan (Mary), M. Bridget Mayer (Bob), Laurie C. Ryan, Elizabeth A. Wetering (Bill), and Patricia James. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, an avid card player, and a diehard fan of the Minnesota Twins. Charlotte loved her family and loved her friends and will be greatly missed. She was a woman of great faith and kindness.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson, SD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Peter’s Catholic Church Building Fund, 400 Main Street, Jefferson, SD 57038.
