Obituary: Margaret Paulzine
Margaret "Honey" Paulzine, age 87, of Wilmont, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her daughter’s home. She was born on December 24, 1925 at the Schettler family farm near Wilmont to parents, John and Augusta (Schafer) Schettler. Margaret "Honey" Paulzine, age 87, of Wilmont, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her daughter’s home. She was born on December 24, 1925 at the Schettler family farm near Wilmont to parents, John and Augusta (Schafer) Schettler. She attended school at OLGC Catholic School in Wilmont and graduated from Worthington High School in 1943.
“Honey” was united in marriage to Raymond “Gus” Paulzine on October 18, 1945 at OLGC Catholic Church in Wilmont. After their marriage the couple were engaged in farming until retiring in 1977 and moved to Alexandria, MN. After her husband’s death in 1978, “Honey” continued to live in Alexandria until 2000 when she moved back to Wilmont.
She is currently a member of OLGC Catholic Church in Wilmont and was formerly a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria where she was also a member of the Daughters of Izabella. “Honey” was a member of the Wilmont CCW and the Wilmont Senior Citizens. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, gardening, playing cards, sewing and was very involved with the Central Minnesota TEC.
“Honey” is survived by her thirteen children, Roger Paulzine, Worthington; William (Mary) Paulzine, Fulda; Carolyn (John) Penning, Wilmont; Jill Paulzine, Wilmont; Thomas (Sandy) Paulzine, Iona; Timothy (Barb) Paulzine, Iona; Anthony (Sue) Paulzine, Wilmont; Mary (Ken) Stommes, Cold Spring; Lisa (Dave) Vang, Maplewood; Curtis (Cheryl) Paulzine, Monticello; Deanna Paulzine and (friend, Mark Kaehler), St. Cloud; Janine Paulzine, Fulda; Lee (Dana) Paulzine, Holdingford; thirty-seven grandchildren, Michael Paulzine, Jennifer Palmer, David Paulzine, Beth Stricklin, Andrea Vogel, Coreen Slater, Angela Ferguson, Greg Penning, Brian Penning, Russell Penning, Michael Hoffman, Charles Paulzine, Nikki Klassen, Raymond Paulzine, Marie Paulzine, Dean Paulzine, Amy Paulzine, Teresa Paulzine, Brenda Paulzine, Sarah Askdal, Cory Paulzine, Eric Paulzine, Laura Greenlun, Keith Eisenmenger, Kristen Schlangen, Maria Stommes, Tricia Schmitz, Jake Vang, Katy Vang, Randy Paulzine, Aaron Koch, Amber Koch, Tyler Koch, Chelse Paulzine, Carter Paulzine, Drew Paulzine, Paige Paulzine, fifty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one sister, Mary Anne (Mick) McCormic, Iona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond in 1978, eight sisters, Katie Vaske, Josie Winter, Kristina Kobberman, Betty Rasche, Ceil Winter, Gustie Biren, Mildred Schettler, Teresa Johanning, three brothers, Augie, Ray and Ed Schettler and Tuffy Klenken.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4 to 8 PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont with a Rosary at 4:00 PM and parish prayers at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church. The funeral mass will be Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont with Father Andrew Beerman officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Wilmont. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sanford Hospice, New
Dawn or Nobles County DAC. Dingmann Funeral Home, Wilmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
