Area businesses have donated to Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota.


World War II veterans Johnny Johnson, LeRoy Luitjens, Warren Herreid, Bill Veenhof and Jake Boomgaarden, along with Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight executive committee members Glen Gust and Terrie Gulden, accept a $5,000 corporate sponsorship for Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota, from Don Bryan, Tim Plimpton and Ryan DeBates, on behalf of Exchange State Bank of Luverne, Hills and Hardwick.

  • The Hills Lions Club presented a check of $500 to Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota President Terrie Gulden on Wednesday, March 17th.  Presenting the check is Leonard (Shorty) Leenderts of Hills, MN.  Also present for the ceremony is WWII veteran and Hills Legion Member Wendell Erickson of Hills.  Wendell will be among the 100 WWII veterans traveling on the inaugural trip for Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota on April 30 and May 1.

  • Sanford's southwest Minnesota facilities in Adrian, Luverne and Worthington presented a $3,000 donation to Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota March 30, 2010. Sanford Clinic Luverne will also support the cause by sending Richard Morgan as physician, and clinic staff offered $876 in donations to sponsor Morgan.   • The Pipestone Area High School student council president offers a donation to Christy Appel and Gene Spicer for the Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight. Students at Middle School and High School raised more than $1200.
  • Terry Gulden accepts a check  for the Rock County Honor Flight from Hannah Baartman, and Zach Staeffler who are representing the Luverne High School Student Council and Peer Helpers.  Members of the Student Council and Peer Helpers held a steak fry at the Eagles and raised close to $1,000.
  • Gerald McConkey (second from left) presented Ken McNab (third from left) with a $550.00 check to be used towards the Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight. The dollars were raised through the Lawful Gambling proceeds from the Brewster American Legion, Post 464. Also in the picture were Jack Strough and Marlin Clausen.<br /><br /><br /><br />
  • Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota received $1,000 from the Masons in Pipestone, Sept. 17, 2010. Accepting the donation for Honor Flight were Cristy Appel and Gene Spicer. Presenting the gift were Mavis Pierson and Vern Long.
  • On Friday, October 15, 2010, Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota accepted a generous $1,000 contribution from BEN FRANKLIN LODGE NO. 114, A.F. & A.M. of Luverne, MN.   • The State Lodge gave $1,000 as a matching donation for the Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight.
  • The Canby Sportsmen’s Club generously donated $1600.00 to Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota for the April 2011 flight Feb. 19, 2011.
