Also presented with the chapter’s Honorary FFA Degree were Kenny and Rhonda Weg. Both were recognized for many years of support and service to the FFA. Rhonda has served as Friends of the FFA Treasurer for many years and Kenny assisted the chapter with equipment for the FFA test plots and work at Hawkeye Point. Presenting the degree is there son and FFA Officer at Large A.J. Weg.

  • The George Braaksma family was award the 2011 Distinguished Service Award. The family donated 32 acres of land to the FFA rent free allowing the chapter to donate more than $10,000 to community improvement projects this past year. Pictured left to right are Ted, Margie and George Braaksma. Also receiving the Distinguished Service Award were Dan Lonnemen, Kelly Monier and Steve Swenson. All are Osceola County Pioneer dealers who assisted the chapter with a special program that resulted in over $22,000 in profit to the local chapter.
  • The Friends of the FFA support group presented S-O FFA President Derek Ackerman and check for $18,000. The money was raised from the annual Friends of the FFA Soup & Pie Supper held last week and Labor Auction held this summer. The money will be used to upgrade the FFA computer lab, shop and classroom. Retiring S-O FFA Officers are pictured with S-O High School Principal Mr. Steven Bruder. Mr Bruder was awarded the chapter’s special service award and presented with his own FFA jacket.
  • S-O Superintendent, Dr. John Phillips was awarded the chapter’s Honorary FFA Degree. Presented to outstanding adult supporters, the Honorary Degree is the highest degree a local chapter can bestow on an adult in the community.
