Betty Baumgard
Betty L. Baumgard, 87, was born September 13, 1925, in St. James, Minnesota. She passed away April 17, 2013, at her home in Brewster, Minnesota.
Betty was the daughter of Virgil and Mabel (Miller) Smith. In 1939 she was confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Brewster. Betty graduated from Brewster High School in 1943. She was a member of the Brewster Drum and Bugle Corp. In 1947 Betty graduated with a nursing degree from Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa. She started her career in Fort Dodge, Iowa and was a care giver all of her life.

Dorothy Ann Charlotte Glad, 88 years, of Peoria AZ peacefully died April 18, 2013. She was born in Minneapolis MN June 7, 1924 to George and Judith Florence Theorin Miller. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School. In 1947 she married Woodrow Glad and they moved to Worthington MN in 1951. In 1987, Dorothy and Woodrow retired to Sun City Arizona.
Dorothy and her husband were active in the Worthington community but most notable was Dorothy’s contribution to First Lutheran church where she was the church organist, accompanist for choirs and highly sought after organist for weddings and funerals. She was a talented musician who could improvise around faulty organ pipes, change keys on the spot to fit soloist ranges and “stretch” the music when there were those occasional delays in the church service.

Donald T. Roos, age 84, of Rushmore, MN; died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born March 27, 1929 south of Rushmore to parents, Douglas E. and Lillian (Olson) Roos. Donald attended school in Rushmore and graduated from Worthington High School in 1947. He then attended the University of Minnesota Agriculture College for two years. After his schooling he served his nation during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force.
Donald was united in marriage to Gerry Gardner on June 6, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. After he was discharged from the service they made their home south east of Rushmore and were engaged in farming until 1990 when he retired because of his health.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
