Letter: HSUS progress? Far from it
I recently read the article in your paper by Joe Maxwell, who is a vice president for the HSUS. As a local pork producer who has raised hogs for the past 19 years, I was somewhat perplexed by what Mr. Maxwell considers progress in the pork industry.

New Fashion Pork speaks out against HSUS
JACKSON — For years, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has pleaded with people for donations through advertising campaigns that tug at peoples’ heartstrings. Letter: "Nobody knows their animals better than the farmers themselves'
Common ground. Let us “set aside our political rhetoric” and “sit down with us (HSUS) and find common ground in support of Minnesota’s family farmers.” How does an industry that is attempting to feed animal protein to America and the Humane Society of the United States, which promotes a vegan agenda, find common ground?
