Threat of aquatic invasives brings greater enforcement, awareness
WORTHINGTON — Last year, boaters in southwest Minnesota may have received a free pass — a warning instead of a citation — if they forgot to pull the plug on their bilge tank before leaving a lake. This year, with stepped up enforcement and a heightened concern for the spread of invasive species like zebra mussel and Asian (bighead or silver) carp, fines will be issued.
