ST. PAUL — The day did not go as planned for the Adrian Area Dragons (29-5), who saw their season end Thursday with a pair of Class AA state tournament losses. New Prague handed Adrian Area a 32-19 quarterfinals setback before Perham eliminated the Dragons 33-25 in the consolation semifinals. It was the only time this season Adrian Area dropped consecutive duals.

The Huskies (21-2) are the top-ranked team in Class A after winning state championships in 2008, 2010, 2011 (in a 28-28 tie with Frazee) and 2012. In 2007, Jackson County Central won the state consolation title while competing in Class AA.
