Donald T. Roos
Donald T. Roos, age 84, of Rushmore, MN; died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born March 27, 1929 south of Rushmore to parents, Douglas E. and Lillian (Olson) Roos. Donald attended school in Rushmore and graduated from Worthington High School in 1947. He then attended the University of Minnesota Agriculture College for two years. After his schooling he served his nation during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force.
Donald was united in marriage to Gerry Gardner on June 6, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. After he was discharged from the service they made their home south east of Rushmore and were engaged in farming until 1990 when he retired because of his health.

Eighteen hydrants get touch-ups thanks to local 16-year-old's project
WORTHINGTON — With paint splattered on their legs, fingers and faces, a group of local Boy Scouts went from one fire hydrant to the next in the Watland Addition Tuesday, giving each structure a new coat of bright red paint.

84 runners take part in the 30th annual ‘Fun Run’
WORTHINGTON — The results are in for the 30th annual YMCA “Fun Run.” A total of 84 runners made it out for the event, which took place Wednesday. Thirty runners participated in the half-mile race, with seven competing in the mile run and 47 taking part in the 5K race.
