Alcie Ann Klooster
Alcie Klooster was born on July 27, 1926 in White, South Dakota to Claus and Anna Franken Arends. In 1933 the family moved to a farm near Adrian, MN and in 1936 they moved to a farm near Ellsworth, MN where Alcie attended Ellsworth High School. On February 26, 1947 she and Richard “Dick” Klooster were married in Ellsworth. Following their marriage they farmed near Adrian where Alcie worked right along side Richard on the farm while raising their three children. In 1966 they moved to Adrian. Alcie worked various jobs after moving to Adrian. Dick passed away on October 17, 2002. Alcie remained in their home until May 15, 2013 when she moved to Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. Alcie passed away there on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the age of 86. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Adrian. Alcie treasured the time she could spend with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Barb and Chuck Tweet of Garvin, MN, Jerry and Diane Klooster of Eden Prairie, MN, and Cheryl and Jim Dorn of Adrian, MN, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Clarence Arends and his wife, Doris of Marysville, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dick, and eight sisters.

Funeral services will be at the United Methodist Church in Adrian, MN on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Kristi Franken officiating. The pallbearers are her grandchildren. Interment is at Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth, MN.
