Michael Dennis Koepsell
Michael “Mike” Dennis Koepsell, age 54, was born on February 16, 1959, in Worthington, MN, the son of Ralston “Rock” and Rhonna (Hower) Koepsell. He passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2013, at his residence in Worthington.
His most recent employment was as a construction supervisor for City Wide Insulation in Omaha, NE. Previously he enjoyed his careers in trucking and construction.

Darlene E. (Aden)Jibben
Darlene Edith Aden was born on December 5, 1948 in Heron Lake, Minnesota to George and Evelyn (Milbrath) Aden. She attended Okabena High School graduating in 1966. After high school she completed her education at Robinson’s Beauty School in Minneapolis. She continued to live in the cities for a short time working at Androllies’ Salon. Darlene was united in marriage to Jerry Christopherson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake on October 19, 1968. From this marriage two children were born, Kristin and Chad. The marriage was later dissolved. She worked for Clayton Shaffer in Heron Lake for a short time before opening her own salon in 1975. Darlene’s beauty salon was open until 1983, when she moved to Worthington. There she worked for various salons. In 1987, Darlene moved to Apache Junction, Arizona, to start a new adventure. In Arizona she ran a beauty salon out of her home called Snow Clips. In July of 2012 her family moved her back to Minnesota. She lived at the Meadows in Worthington, before making Lakeview Assisted Living in Heron Lake her home until April 15, 2013. Darlene Jibben passed away after a courageous battle with ALS on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at South Shore Care Center in Worthington at the age of 64 years, four months, and twelve days.
Darlene was a member of First Baptist Church in Worthington, Minnesota and Crossroads Southern Baptist Church in Apache Junction, Arizona. Darlene enjoyed doing many congregational activities with her church in Arizona, such as Bible studies or weekend hiking. Darlene loved to spend time outdoors; enjoying mountain climbing, hiking, and kayaking. Darlene enjoyed traveling across the United States and loved to entertain her friends with campfires, parties, ping pong, and horseshoe. She also enjoyed square dancing. Her dog Dusty was a loyal companion until the end of her life. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family.

Michael Kirkwood, age 60, a 14-year resident of Ft. Mohave, Ariz. died on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Ft. Mohave. He was born on April 3, 1953 in Kansas City, Mo. He served as a Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Navy for 22 years, and worked as an Engineman for the BNSF Railroad. Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Kirkwood. He is survived by two sons, Carlton D. Kirkwood of San Francisco, California, and Marcus Kirkwood of Amarillo, Texas; father and mother, Joseph and Hannah Kirkwood of Smithfield, VA. ;brother, Andre Kirkwood, of Virginia Beach, VA. The family requests any donations be made to Operation Freedom Paws, a non-profit that helps veterans train service dogs (www.operationfreedompaws.org.) Edward Lawrence Thiner
Edward Lawrence Thiner passed away suddenly on March 20, 2013, at the age of 75 from a heart attack. Ed was born on the farm near Brewster, MN and resided in Merced for the past 56 years.
He was stationed at Castle Air Force Base when he met and married his wife of 51 years, Louise Carol Jordan. Ed worked at BAC-Pritchard for over 30 years as plant manager.

Dorothy Ann Hough was born to Niels and Anna (Hansen) Nielsen on February 3, 1930, near Rothsay, MN. She grew up on the farm near Rothsay where she attended school graduating in 1948. She was united in marriage to Armand Hough on June 13, 1948. They lived in Barnesville, MN, where Armand ran Hough’s Market and Dorothy worked many various jobs. While in Barnesville, they were members of St. James United Church of Christ and Dorothy’s passion was singing in the church choir. Dorothy had a beautiful voice and was a soloist at many weddings and funerals.
The Hough’s moved to Worthington in 1974 and Dorothy found employment at Johnson Jewelry where she stayed until retirement. First United Methodist Church became her new church home where she continued with her love of singing for many years. In her retirement years, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and with her dog, Scruffy.
